Rosa van Zijl joined our firm in September 2007 and practices from our offices in The Hague. She handles financial-economic cases, general criminal law cases and procedures before the European Court of Human Rights. In the field of economic criminal Law, her area of practice also involves involuntary accidents or disasters; this particularly bears upon procedures regulating criminal liability under the Working Conditions Act.

At Leiden University, she took a First Year exam in Greek and Latin Language and Culture and completed the Criminal Law course and the Encyclopaedia and Philosophy of Law course, both cum laude. She also clerked for the criminal division of the District Court in Curaçao.

Ms. Van Zijl holds the position of secretary of the Dutch Association for Young Defence Counsel.

She has published on pre-trial detention, on European case law and on confiscation legislation and transitional law. Rosa van Zijl is fluent in English and has a fair command of German.
