Max J.N. Vermeij, LL.M.

Mr. Vermeij joined our offices in The Hague on 1 September 2007, after having worked for Stibbe in Amsterdam.

In 1999, he graduated from Leyden University with a degree in Tax Law and Criminal Tax Law. He also has a degree in Cultural Anthropology.

His field of expertise concerns criminal economic and tax law. He assisted clients in (major) confiscation cases and environmental criminal cases. Furthermore, he has specific expertise in Securities Law, in the areas of inside information and compliance. He also advises clients on privacy related aspects of criminal cases (Justice System Data Act).

He is a member of the European Criminal Bar Association and a (prospective) member of the Dutch Association of Defence Counsel. He has published on securities law and money laundering.

Mr. Vermeij speaks English, French and German.
