In 1992, Jan Sjöcrona was one of the founders of our law firm. Practising from our offices in The Hague, he is specialised in fraud cases financial and economic criminal law), international criminal law and Supreme Court litigation.
The International Who's Who Legal 2005 lists him as a leading practicioner in the field of business crime. The European Legal 2005 describes Jan Sjöcrona as recommended and highly regarded.
Following his qualification (1980), he was a criminal law lecturer at Leyden University for five years. In 1990, he obtained his doctoral degree with a thesis on mutual legal assistance between States in criminal matters. From 1994 through 1996, he was part-time professor to the Chair of International Criminal Law at Tilburg University. He developed the Criminal Procedure course in the vocational training for advocates. He has many publications to his name on a variety of aspects of national and international criminal (procedure) law and is regularly invited to speak at national and international conferences.
Mr. Sjöcrona is a member of the Criminal Law Advisory Commission of the Netherlands Bar Association, co-founder and former council member of the Dutch Association of Defence Counsel, member of the European Criminal Bar Association and member of the International Bar Association.
He studied at Leyden University and speaks English, Swedish, French and German.
